"A company based in Sansha will soon operate another sea water desalting facility in China's islands in the South China Sea to provide fresh water to their residents and animals, and for landscape engineering.

Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited, which launched in March its first sea water desalination facility capable of providing 500 tons of fresh water per day, will soon install a new one to treat up to 1, 000 tons daily in Yongxing Island, the Hainan Daily reported on Tuesday.

Sansha, located on Yongxing's Xisha Island, was officially established in 2012 to administer the Xisha, Zhongsha and Nansha island group and surrounding waters in the South China Sea, according to the Xinhua News Agency."
