"Donald Trump has been elected the 45th president of the US. From his startling speeches during his election campaign, we could see that his election will not only generate an impact on US society, but also bring changes to US foreign policy. Its Russia policy is no exception.

Given US-Russia relations are one of the most vital international relations in the current global landscape, it is not surprising that the international community has cast its eyes on how this bilateral relationship will evolve under Trump's rule.

Generally, Trump will inject some positive energy into the current deadlocked Russia-US relations. Trump extended an olive branch to Russia by saying during his campaign that he wanted to improve US-Russia relations and in particular that he wanted a closer relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin."
