"China is "going soft" on its claims in the disputed West Philippine Sea (South China Sea), two analysts said.
China's response to a Philippine court's decision finding nine Chinese fishermen guilty of poaching for fishing near Half Moon Shoal "cements the impression of China 'going soft' on the issue," according to Lim Kheng Swe and Li Mingjiang.
Lim is a research analyst while Li is an associate professor and coordinator of the China Programme at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University."
