"The Japanese government has announced that this summer, it will begin accepting Syrian refugees as international students to the country with the aim to take in a total of 300 through 2021.

Though this is double the previous number that Tokyo has vowed to accept during its hosting of the G7 summit in May 2016, Abe's administration feels pressure from other member states to bear further moral obligations. Besides, Tokyo also wants political gain through this hypocritical refugee policy."
