"The Chinese Foreign Ministry called on the US to play a 'constructive' role in the South China Sea disputes.

'We hope the relevant side can fully respect and support the efforts of countries in the region to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea, and play a constructive role rather than the opposite,' Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying."
