"China's CNOOC made a new "mid-to-large sized" natural gas discovery Tuesday at the deepwater Lingshui 25-1 structure in offshore China.

The Lingshui 25-1 structure is located in the northeast of Ledong Sag in the Qiongdongnan Basin of South China Sea, with an average water depth of about 3,215 feet.

The Lingshui 25-1-1 discovery well was drilled and completed to a depth of about 13,123 feet and encountered an oil and gas pay zone with a total thickness of about 239 feet."
