Communique notes China at ‘new historical starting point’ for China

Profound, fundamental changes were made over the last five years indicating the nation's development stands at a "new historical starting point," according to a communique published at the conclusion of the four-day Seventh Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Saturday.
Entrusted by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a work report at the meeting, the Xinhua News Agency reported Saturday.
It was decided that the 19th CPC National Congress, a five-yearly event, will convene Wednesday in Beijing, the communique confirmed.
