Trump thanks Kim for clearing the last hurdle before summit

The final hurdle to a historic summit between President Trump and Kim Jong-un was cleared yesterday when three American detainees were released by North Korea.
Kim Dong-chul, Kim Hak-song and Tony Kim raised their arms in triumph early on Thursday morning as they stepped from a US government jet to face hundreds of reporters at the Andrews air force base in Maryland.
Mr Trump paid tribute to Mr Kim. “This is a wonderful thing that he released the folks early . . . I think he did this because I really think he wants to do something and bring that country into the real world,” he said.
