China is next on Imran Khan's list as Pakistan looks for bailout money

KARACHI (BLOOMBERG) - Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan begins a four-day visit to China on Friday (Nov 2) to shore up support for a financial bailout that the South Asian nation desperately needs.
Mr Khan's first visit to China since taking office in August comes after Pakistan secured a US$6 billion (S$8.26 billion) support package from Saudi Arabia last month and requested aid from the International Monetary Fund.
The South Asian economy needs to plug a shortfall after foreign exchange reserves plunged more than 40 per cent this year, the current account deficit widened and the currency lost a quarter of its value since December.
