"Foreign ministers from the Group of Seven industrialized nations begin two-day talks on Tuesday, with the shaky peace process in Ukraine, Iranian nuclear programs and maritime security expected to be among key topics.

The foreign ministerial meeting in Lubeck, northern Germany, will lay the groundwork for the G-7 summit planned for June 7 and 8 at Schloss Elmau in Bavaria.

On the eve of the G-7 talks, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed the latest situation surrounding conflicts that occurred Sunday in Denetsk, eastern Ukraine, with their Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, as well as Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin."
