NISCSS will Host Workshop on History and Reality of the South China Sea 2025 in Beijing

NISCSS, in collaboration with the Huayang Center for Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance, China Oceanic Development Foundation, Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies, and CGTN, will jointly host the Symposium on Global Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance in Sanya from December 10 to 12, 2025.
This event will convene over 300 participants, including experts, scholars, government officials, foreign diplomats to China, as well as representatives from international organizations, maritime sectors, and media institutions from nearly 30 countries and regions worldwide. The symposium will feature seven sessions: Building a Stable and Sustainable Global Ocean Governance System, Managing Maritime Disputes: Regional Practices and International Experience, Striving for Maritime Strength: Blue Partnerships and the Development of Hainan Free Trade Port, Sustaining Peace in the South China Sea: Geopolitics and the Construction of Regional Order, Climate Change and Marine Ecological Conservation, Security of Sea Lanes and Submarine Infrastructure, and Global Ocean Governance: Models and Pathways. Additionally, the symposim will include a special seminar themed Hainan FTP: Leveraging the 15th Five-Year Plan to Co-create a China-ASEAN Blue Economy Common Market.
