NISCSS, in collaboration with Huayang Center for Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance, China Oceanic Development Foundation, Chinese Global Program Center of China Media Group, and the Boao Forum for Asia Secretariat, will co-host the South China Sea Sub-Forum of BFA Annual Conference 2026 on March 26-27.

This event will convene over 100 participants, including experts, scholars, government officials, foreign diplomats to China, as well as representatives from international organizations, maritime sectors, and media institutions from nearly 20 countries and regions worldwide. Themed on the South China Sea Order and Governance Cooperation in a Changing World, the sub-forum will feature four sessions: Innovations and Practical Roadmaps for Cooperation Mechanisms under the Current Situation in the SCS, Marine Environmental Protection as the Link: Forging a New Pattern of China-ASEAN Ocean Governance, Rules and Order in the SCS: Reflections and Pathways, High-Quality Development of the Marine Economy in the SCS Region and the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
