Ding Duo is Director of the Research Center for International and Regional Issues, associate research fellow of National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS). His research interests include general theory of public international law, international law of the sea, and dispute settlement mechanism. Ding received his bachelor's degree from China University of Political Science and Law and obtained his Master and Ph. D in Law both in Yonsei University, Korea.
His research achievement includes The South China Sea Arbitration Awards: A Critical Study, Foreign Languages Press; Introduction to Basic Theories of International Law, Hainan Publishing House; “The Integrity of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and its Limitations on Treaty Interpretation”, (2021) 06 Humanities and Social Sciences Journal of Hainan University; “Analysis on the Legal Status of Traditional Fishing Rights in the International Law of the Sea”, (2020) 01 Chinese Review of International Law; “Nature Prolongation Principle in the Outer Limits of the Continental Shelf beyond 200 Nautical Miles”, (2018) 01 Chinese Review of International Law. His recent research projects include “research on issues related to the cooperation mechanism among coastal countries in the South China Sea”, “research on the legal system and management practice of foreign-related marine scientific research” and “research on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea”.
